Wake up Earlier

An important girl boss habit to practice is to wake up earlier. Your morning habits set you up for the entire day and if you start your morning in a rush then you will have a difficult time redeeming your day. It’s important to have a mindful routine in place in order to have a happy mind and body from the beginning of your day. With that in mind, if you plan to wake up earlier then you need to ensure that you are getting enough sleep.

A good nights sleep will allow you to feel energetic, happier, motivated and focused. Those few extra hours of sleep will also stop you from overeating throughout the day and prevent you from feeling drained and agitated. It’s also important to make sure you’re not oversleeping as this can mess up your sleeping cycle, leaving you feeling just as sluggish and drowsy! The amount of sleep you need can depend on your age, but the average is eight hours.

I understand that some of you may work irregular hours. If that’s the case for you, then you can still wake up earlier, you just need to be more thoughtful when planning your time. Whether you have a regular morning routine or if every day is different, I suggest you spend a couple of minutes planning your morning the night before. This way you will know what time you will wake up and what you will achieve with your time.

Avoid procrastination

Procrastination is the force that keeps us from becoming the person we want to be, by stopping us from doing the work that we are supposed to be doing. Procrastination can lurk everywhere in our lives and if we’re not careful it can get the better of us and stop us from being who we want to be.

We all procrastinate and it’s usually when we’re supposed to be doing an important task or when a deadline is due but instead, we waste our time on miscellaneous things such as watching YouTube videos, checking emails and surfing the web. When we do this we are fast-forwarding to the reward before we have done the work. But the problem is we can’t fully enjoy that reward because we know there are more important things which we should be doing.

There are simple methods you can try to avoid procrastination, such as writing down your goals and giving yourself a deadline. If you have a large goal in mind, break it into smaller and more manageable tasks. Plan your day by setting time aside for important and non-negotiable tasks.

Be a Student For Life

When you learn something new it enriches your view of the world and can help you in your career and all aspects of your life. When you develop a student mindset you don’t shy away from life’s challenges, you know that you can learn the solution to any problem that comes your way.

We are so blessed to live in this digital age where we can learn anything we want and then use this information to create the life and career we desire. With access to information through books, YouTube channels, Podcasts, Blogs and online classes it would be a shame not to better our lives and take advantage of all these resources.

To give you some inspiration on how you can be a student for life, below is a list of classes and subjects which I would like to learn and develop. Maybe some of these will spark your interest too?

Develop a Positive Mindset

The moment you develop a positive mindset, your life and circumstances will begin to change. Have you ever heard of the Law of Attraction? The Law of Attraction is basically the idea that our universe operates under this ‘law’ in which like attracts like, meaning whatever energy you send out, you will attract back in return. For example, if you focus on being positive and achieving your goals then your thoughts will materialise into your reality. If however, you focus on negativity, your reality will remain under a dark cloud. You can develop a positive mindset by:

Expressing gratitude

It comes quite naturally for most of us to focus on the negative side of situations. To reverse these thoughts and nourish your mind you must express gratitude. You see, the more you are grateful for in your life, the more you will find to be grateful for.

Using affirmations.

Affirmations are positive statements which you repeat to yourself in a way to support your success.  They can help you to develop a more positive perception of yourself and your life. The repetition of affirmations can be very powerful as they can influence your beliefs and keep you focused on your goals.

I really like that you’ve added using affirmations here- I find that positive talk and inspiring quotes to be so helpful! Waking up early has honestly helped me be so much more productive. I’m still the Queen of procrastination but I pack so much more into my days rather than spending the morning laying in bed. I hope you have a wonderful week! xx
