Positive thinking quotes are everywhere, and for good reason. Positive thinking reduces stress and overwhelm, it can even improve your health!
Because it all begins and ends with your mind, what you give your power to, has power over you if you allow it…
There will always be periods in life when positive thinking seems impossible and it can be hard to shift those negative thoughts. But I do believe that positive thinking is up to you. It’s your choice whether you want to be more positive or walk around feeling sorry for yourself and drowning in negative thoughts.
The below positive thinking quotes are all created by myself for you to enjoy and take inspiration from!
Positive Thinking Quotes
Always remember how far you’ve come, not how far you have to go.
It’s so easy to forget about how far we’ve come and instead focus on how far we have to go. Especially if you’re the type of person who is always striving for more and who is constantly moving their goal to something more challenging.
One of the positive habits which I’ve developed is remembering to look back on how much I’ve achieved so far. It’s good to aim for bigger and better things, just don’t forget where you started. A good exercise for this is to write a reverse bucket list, when writing a reverse bucket list, you need to write down all the things you’ve achieved so far. What are you proud of? What goals have you accomplished?
Passion isn’t always obvious, curiosity however fuels your imagination. It helps you figure out what excites you, what brings out the best in you and what makes you loose sense of time.
Often we hear people say something like “find your passion”, “do what sets your soul on fire” but we don’t all know what our passion is and often we can live for decades without a real passion for something. And that’s okay. Don’t worry about finding your passion because passion isn’t always obvious and passion can change throughout your life. Instead, follow your curiosity.
Don’t envy people who have what you’re not willing to work for.
Makes sense right? Have you ever spoken badly about someone for achieving something which (1) you’re jealous of and (2) you’re not willing to work for? A good example is when we judge others for eating healthy and exercising regularly, we say things such as “you’re making the rest of us look bad” and “you don’t need to loose weight”. If you want the success which others have, then you need to put in the effort to make it happen. Jealousy will not get you any closer to your goal, in fact it’s more likely to push you further away from your dreams and your goals.
Nothing should have the power to hold you back in life. Nobody should take away your confidence and stop you from living your dreams.
This is an issue which holds a lot of us back as it’s only natural to care what others people think of you. As humans we worry about being judged, we seek approval from others and we like to please people. Basically we want to fit in and not be the odd one out.
Yet the realty is when you worry about what others think of you, you hold yourself back from being yourself and doing what you love. Life becomes lot easier once you learn to stop caring about what other people think of you. Because nothing should have the power to hold you back in life. Nobody should take away your confidence and stop you from living out your dreams.
If you make an effort to slow down life would be a lot simpler.
Often we put too much pressure on ourselves. We set ourselves goals with a limited amount of time to complete them, let alone enjoy the journey. We feel like a failure if we can’t complete everything on our to-do list.
Sometimes we can’t fully enjoy the book, article or blog post we’re reading because we’re constantly pressing fast forward and thinking about the next thing on our list.
We don’t often take time to slow down because we think if we slow down, we will be left behind. Yet if we actually made an effort to slow down life would be a lot simpler. We would make fewer mistakes, be more productive, have a clearer mind and feel less overwhelmed.
Isn’t it about time we stopped standing in our own way?
Self-sabotage isn’t always obvious and sometimes it can take a while to pull ourselves up on it. But we need to make a conscious effort to notice when we’re standing in our own way.

To get what you want you first have to appreciate what you have. Otherwise you’ll always be wanting more.
Expressing gratitude will do absolute wonders for your mind-set. Being grateful will shift your focus to your positive life experiences and help you appreciate your life.
At the end of each day ask yourself what you’re grateful for, doing this will lift your self-esteem as you recognise your own achievements and become less concerned over the things which you don’t have or haven’t yet done.
Believe in yourself, even when no one else does. Be the person who never gives up, be the person who proves everyone wrong.
When we set ourselves goals we need to be our number one one fan, your self-belief will be the reason why you achieve your dreams. Don’t worry if no one else believes in you, because as long as you believe in you, then that’s all that counts.
Surround yourself with people who truly love and care about you and only focus on their opinions.
Try to limit your time spent with anyone who drags you down. Negative influences could also come through the media. What do you usual watch, read and listen to? Are they programmes which boost your confidence or do they make you feel inadequate and unworthy? Instead, spend more time reading positive blogs or books which are aimed to improve your self esteem and make you feel good about yourself.
At the end of the day, it’s up to you how you respond to constructive criticism. You can choose to grow from it or you can choose to dwell on it.
As painful as it can sometimes be to hear constructive criticism, it’s the type of feedback which we need the most in order to grow and develop. When you’re given constructive criticism, it’s up to you whether you choose to grow from it or dwell on it.
My advice to those who sometimes find themselves feeling lost is to try and use this time to really understand yourself and your passions. Run as fast as you can towards anything and everything that makes you feel alive.
Sometimes we feel like we’ve finally got it all figured out and we can see which way we’re heading, then all of a sudden the wind blows and all of the signs will change direction. A step forward will feel like a step backwards and we end up feeling lost.
Use this time to follow your curiosity, travel to new places, try out new hobbies and learn something you’ve also wanted to learn.
