How I Rock My Goals: August

She’s a Goal Digger

Since the beginning of 2017 I have been setting myself monthly goals, why? I believe setting goals will help me stay motivated and I hope by sharing my goals I will inspire you to set your own. Today I will tell you how I got on with my July goals and what my goals for our August.

Let’s get to it.

July Goals: Review


I turned 25 last month and I thought it would be motivating to write a bucket list of all the things I wish to achieve before my next birthday!

  • Write a bucket list for the year ahead.

I decided to write a 26 before 26 list. I found this exercise quite hard until I realised that there’s no wrong or right answer, it’s simply the things I want to achieve before I turn 26. But for now, I will be keeping this list private 🙂

Well, umm, this was a complete fail! I didn’t manage to get ahead of my blog post schedule at all. I do have some days off work in August so maybe I can try again then.

Health & Fitness

My July goals for health and fitness was to keep up my fitness levels by running regularly and by introducing exercise into my morning routine.

  • Continue running and introduce exercises into my morning routine.

Continue running, done. Introduce exercise to my morning routine, umm which morning routine? No seriously, I so badly want to get into the habit of waking up early and being productive, but lately it’s a bit hit and miss. I was first encouraged to create a morning routine after I read the amazing book The Miracle Morning* but I need that excitement and encouragement again. I will definitely be re-reading this book for inspiration!

If you’re up to date with my blog posts then I’m sure you’re aware we’re currently doing ALOT of work in our new home. Yet despite the mess I arranged for my girls to come over for a BBQ last month.

  • Host an ace BBQ for my girls.

The weather actually managed to stay nice, despite a little bit of rain but that didn’t ruin our fun! I was super nervous before the girls arrived which sounds so silly because they’re my best friends. I guess I just wanted it all to be perfect for their first visit.

Personal Growth

I mentioned earlier that my morning routine has been a bit hit and miss. To get myself back on track and to gain some much needed encouragement and motivation I’m planning on re-read The Miracle Morning*. I absolutely loved this book, it’s the reason I started a morning routine in the first place but I just need that little bit of inspiration again.


My blogging goal for July was to be more organised with my blog posts by preparing posts one month ahead of schedule. I didn’t manage to complete this goal so I’m going to try again this month, I have a little bit of time off work in August so hopefully this will help me be more organised.

Health & Fitness

I’ve done something crazy, I’ve entered a half marathon in November! I’ve done a number of 10k runs now and I thought it was time to up my game and give myself a new challenge. My fitness goal for August and most likely until December will be to train for the half marathon. I want the run to be fun and easy, basically I don’t want to be hating life and regretting every step during the race!

  • Train for the half marathon


Family are everything, and I want to ensure I create as many wonderful memories with them as possible so I can look back with no regrets. As I have some time off work this August I want to spend some quality time with my two lovely nans.

  • Spend quality time with my nans.

    1. Hi Lauren 🙂 What kind of schedule are you looking to make? A blogging schedule? I’ve created a blogging schedule on Excel, which shows all my published and draft posts and the date/category they were published. I also keep here my ideas for future posts and the date I want to publish these 🙂 x

  1. LOL, I can’t even plan my blog posts a week ahead of schedule let alone a month. I definitely want to be more consistent at least and start there! I love making goals and monitoring my progress but also think it definitely important not to be too hard on ourselves about them!

    1. Hey Shannon, at the moment I’ve planned my blog posts two weeks in advance, but my goal is to plan them one month ahead! I agree, it’s important that we’re not too hard on ourselves, sometimes we focus too much on the end goal rather than our journey and how far we’ve come. Thanks for commenting x

  2. Loved your goals! I set some of my own, let’s see if I can keep them up. It’s funny, last year I wrote a list of 25 things I wanted to do while I was 25. I was able to achieve a lot of them, but unfortunately my phone was stolen and I lost the list. I even wrote a blog post about it around my birthday. I hope you can succeed better than me on this 🙂
