Hello October! I just love Autumn, it’s the season which shows us just how beautiful it is to let things go. Today’s post will be another ‘How I Rock My Goals’ series, if you’re new to my blog then i’ll just say that since the beginning of 2017 I have been setting myself monthly goals, why? Because I believe setting goals will help me stay motivated and I hope by sharing my goals I will inspire you to set your own. Today I will share with you how I got on with my September goals and what my goals are for October.
If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it.
My self-care goal for September was to stick to a bedtime routine every weekday. I believe having a bedtime routine is the perfect way to switch off and unwind from the day and to prepare for the next morning.
- Switch off all electronics by 9PM
- Prepare my bag and clothes for the next day
- Read in bed before falling asleep
This routine has worked perfectly for me. In fact, once I got into this routine my boyfriend also started to switch off electronics by 9 PM.
My blogging goal for September was to grow my email subscribers. I wanted to reach 500 by the end of the month which was 135 more subscribers than I had. This was a big goal but I wanted to aim high.
- Increase my email subscribers to 500
To increase my subscribers I added more opt in forms on my blog and updated my Resource Library which is now full of free tools, worksheets and resources to help you reach your goals and prioritise your self-care. I didn’t reach my goal of 500 but I did gain 53 new subscribers which isn’t too bad for me and my little blog.

For the past four months we have been gutting and completely re building our kitchen. It’s been a lot of hard work but we’re almost finished. Last month I set myself (well, my boyfriend Ash) the goal to finish the kitchen by the end of the month. This is because we hosted a family party at the end of September and having a kitchen is super handy, don’t you think?
- Finish kitchen by the end of the month
The kitchen isn’t completely finished but it’s use-able and that’s the main thing. We just have a couple of finishing touches.
I invited my family round for a house warming at the end of September, so whether the kitchen was finished or not, my goal was to host a great party.
- Have a great party with my family
Firstly, hosting a party is hard work! You don’t get to sit down much and you don’t even eat much as you’re too busy making sure everyone else is having a good time. But, it was a great day and I loved showing off our new home to my family.
When I want to take new photos of myself for my Instagram or for my blog posts, I usually need to ask a friend or my boyfriend to be my photographer. This isn’t always convenient, so to make things easier I’ve bought myself a tripod so I can take my own photos. This months blogging goal is to practice taking my own photos using the tripod. I’ll be a bit embarrassed taking photos of myself in public, using a tripod but if I want to have lots of new blog photos then this may be the best way to do it!
- Practice using the tripod to take blog photos
I’ve been saying to myself for ages that I want to get a massage, but for some reason I just haven’t booked an appointment. It may not seem like much of a goal but this month I want to treat myself to a massage.
- Treat myself to a massage
