Your Dreams Are Real, Go After Them!
Wow really? Are we in September already? Well then, let’s make it a September to remember. Since the beginning of 2017 I have been setting myself monthly goals, why? Because I believe setting goals will help me stay motivated and I hope by sharing my goals I will inspire you to set your own. Today I will share with you how I got on with my August goals and what my goals are for September.
Let’s get to it!
August Goals: Review
My personal growth goal for August was to re read The Miracle Morning* in the hopes to get myself back into a productive morning routine.
- Re-read The Miracle Morning*
I absolutely love this book and was more than happy to re read it. It’s such a motivating and inspiring book and once again it gave me the encouragement I needed to start waking up earlier and being more productive, I’ve even started to get the earlier train to work!
My blogging goal for July and August was to be more organised with my blog posts by preparing posts one month ahead of schedule. I didn’t manage to complete this goal in July so I reset myself this goal for August, because if you fail you must try and try again!
- Try again: Prepare blog posts to be one month ahead of schedule
In August I was much more organised and I managed to write three additional blog posts which put me three weeks ahead of schedule. Meaning I then had more time later on to market and promote my blog. Even though my goal was to prepare blog posts one month ahead of schedule, I’m pretty happy with being three weeks ahead!
Health & Fitness
Last month I told you that I entered a half marathon in November! I’ve done a number of 10k runs and I thought it was time to step up my game and give myself a new challenge. My fitness goal until the big day (19 November) is to train for the half marathon. I want the run to be fun and easy, basically I don’t want to be hating life and regretting every step during the race!
- Train for the half marathon
I have a 12 week training plan which I started on Monday 28 August. The plan goes something like this, and so far, I’m on track!
- Monday: Rest
- Tuesday: 5k run

- Friday: Rest
- Saturday: 5k
- Sunday: Long run which increases each week

- Sunday week 1: 7k
- Sunday week 2: 8k
- Sunday week 3: 10k
- Sunday week 4: 11k
- Sunday week 5: 12k
- Sunday week 6: 14k
- Sunday week 7: 15k
- Sunday week 8: 16k
- Sunday week 9: 17k
- Sunday week 10: 7k
- Sunday week 11: 18k
- Sunday week 12: Half Marathon 21k
Training isn’t too bad when you’re running in the one of the most beautiful cities, London.
Family are everything, and I want to ensure I create as many wonderful memories with them as possible so I can look back with no regrets. Last month I had some time off work and wanted to spend some quality time with my two lovely Nans.
- Spend quality time with my Nans
During my first day off work I met my Nanny May in London Bridge. Itook her to one of my favourite restaurants in Shad Thames called Valentina, it’s an Italian restaurant which serves the most delicious food and the staff are super friendly! We then went for stroll along the Thames by Tower Bridge and the Hay Galleria.
During my second day off work, I hopped on the train to Kent to take my Nanny Jean to afternoon Tea. We went to the cutest tea shop in Sidcup called The Chunky Tea Pot.
Having a bedtime routine is the perfect way to switch off and unwind from the day and to prepare for the next morning. This month I would like to stick to a bedtime routine every weekday. I believe setting a bedtime routine will help you to relax and fall asleep faster.
In my routine I will:
- Switch off all electronics by 9 PM
- Prepare my bag and clothes for work the next day
- Read in bed before falling fast asleep
My blogging goal for September is to grow my email subscribers. I would like to reach 500 by the end of the month, which is 135 more subscribers than I currently have! This is a massive increase but I want to aim high. To increase my subscribers I’m updating my resource library which is exclusive for TPT email subscribers only and adding more opt in forms on my blog.
- Increase my email subscribers to 500

- Train for the half marathon
For the past four months we have been gutting and completely re building our kitchen. It’s been a lot of hard work and a lot of mess but we’re aiming to completely finish the kitchen by the end of September. Well, this is the deadline which I have in my head as we’re having a family gathering at the end of the month and having a kitchen would be super handy, don’t you think?
I don’t usually include home goals in these posts, but as I have a deadline for the kitchen I thought it would be fun to share it with you guys. Yet, I suppose this goals is more for my boyfriend Ash rather than myself, LOL.
- Finish the Kitchen by the end of the month
At the end of September I’ve invited my family round for a house warming. The date of the gathering is also my Nan’s birthday AND my cousin would have just returned from a four month trip in the U.S, so the pressure is on to (1) finish the kitchen and (2) make sure it’s a good day!
- Have a wonderful day with my family
Have you set yourself any monthly or yearly goals?
